Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition Kickstarter is here!!!

Well I have been waiting for this one for eons. Finally the 7th edition of Call of Cthulhu is coming. I like some of the concepts I am hearing such as removing opposed rolls table and making to more streamlined. Also some rules will be optional plug-ins. In all a very streamlined game which to me is good. The stretch goals are kind of sparse. I am not sure if they were expecting not as much support as they thought they would be already the first of three is achieved. Myself I am looking at the $170 which includes a keepers book plus investigator books for your friends.

Horror on the Orient Express Returns

Chaosium is kickstarting a fund for the reprinting and revision of their classic campaign Horror on the Orient Express. This is a campaign that has literally not seen the light of day in over two decades.

I was fortunate enough back many years ago to find a copy of this in a used section of our gaming store we frequented. It had everything included and it’s really a good campaign. I am currently trying to get the group organized for my Cthulhu game which will lead into this campaign eventually as I have been dying to run it.

But for those who never experienced it and even for those who have or own it this is still a great kickstarter to be part of. Lots of bonuses to be had and we all know Chaosium is totally good for it.

Mythic Island from Chaosium now available

If your looking for a sourcebook for your Basic Roleplaying needs then look no further then Mythic Island which shipped on June 11th. Here’s a little tease from Chaosium themselves.

The Nordic and Celtic peoples who settled Iceland in the 9th century came from lands with rich traditions of folklore, where the mythical and supernatural were part of daily life. They found an island of striking beauty, with inland valleys, richly grassed and forested lowlands, massive glaciers, and impressive volcanic mountain ranges. They also found a land teeming with spirits of nature and mythic creatures.

Mythic Iceland offers Basic Roleplaying players the experience of living and adventuring in the Iceland described in the Sagas and in Icelandic fairy-tales.

So if your looking to add some Icelandic fun, hit your local store or head on over to Chaosium to get a hand on all the fun.

New Cthulhu Fiction: The Yith Cycle

Shipping as of the 5th of November from Chaosium is a new collection of Cthulhu mythos stories entitled The Yith Cycle. Here is the product description.

The planet Yith is the home of the Great Race, a place inspiring H.P. Lovecraft and other authors to pen classic tales of travel through Time and Space. In “The Shadow Out of Time” (here with new, purified text) there is implicit a very different view of Homo Sapiens origins, derived directly from the modern mythology of the Theosophical Society. HPL often mentioned Theosophy as a kind of foil and precedent for his own Mythos in his stories. This collection includes tales of Yith both famous and obscure, replete with time travel, mind-exchange, and thrilling vistas of primordial history set in context that enables new readers and long-time Lovecraftian fans alike to enjoy them.

A Call from Cthulhu

Well looks like there is a lot happening in Chaosium’s realm beyond the stars.

1. Coming in April there is a new book headed our way entitled Strange Aeons 2. It is a collection with nine scenarios that take place over various periods of time. Each comes with pre generated characters.

2. Arkham Now is now available. This book updates Arkham to the present time. This will be a good ressource for people wondering how they can bring forth Arkham to the present and get some romping adventures going. Mind the wal-marts with the Shoggoth at the counter.
